Travel more for less!!

Our main goal at Thrifty after 50 is to help you to spend more time travelling – even if you don’t have a lot of money.

When you get to the ‘OTHER’ side of 50, you start to realise that time is one of the few things that you can’t buy. If you are anything like John and myself, then you will want to spend less time working and more time doing the things you enjoy.

We hope to help you to travel smarter, cheaper and for longer by sharing all our best tips and advice and by showing you that you can be thrifty over 50 and travel more for less!

Thrifty doesn’t mean cheap!

Being thrifty doesn’t mean that you are being cheap. Being thrifty means that you are being sensible with your money and spending it on what matters the most to you.

For John and I, the most important things in our life are our daughters, parents and siblings.

The next most important thing is TRAVEL!!!

If we can do it, so can you!

In mid-2019 we both decided to take a break from work for a while so that we could spend more time travelling the world. Our motto in life at the moment is do more in your 50’s than in your 60’s or 70’s!

BUT……..unfortunately, we don’t have a bottomless supply of money, so we have to look at what options are available to us so that we can get the most out of our travel budget. We want to increase the amount of time we spend travelling without spending any more money.

And you can do it too.

Whether you prefer to take life at a slower pace or are into healthy low-cost activities like cycling and hiking, we can show you how to get your accommodation for free and to save money while travelling, so that you can have a better lifestyle and see more of the world.
